Goodbye Hospital, Hello Home!

Joelle, Aviva, and I left the hospital on Saturday, and headed towards our house. Before we left, we had a pretty special moment saying goodbye, that we were lucky enough to catch on video – look how awake she is watching us! (You might need to visit the actual blog post to view this).

(By the way – I have a feeling this blog is going to be very Aviva-heavy from now on – but I guess you could have guessed that!)

34/40 (or so)

TIme is flying – it’s hard to believe! Joelle is now at week 34 of her pregnancy (as of today); sure seems like just yesterday we found out about it! Things are coming along – we have week 4 of our childbirth class tonight, last weekend we took our hospital tour, and all around, we’re just getting the house ready for the new arrival – this includes trying to get Molly to see as many children as she can to get used to them, of course.

Last week we had a (final, hopefully) ultrasound. As the baby’s gotten bigger, the ultrasound machine can no longer pick up the entire length of her in one photo, but we did get two great shots of her face.

We got a fantastic gift of a new rocker/glider for the nursery last week – of course, Joelle needed to try it out!

Hitting the 34-week milestone seemed a good time for a belly-shot photo, so took a couple this morning.

Back from the hospital

As those of you following my Facebook status updates know, surgery went very well (the main back/leg pain is gone – albeit with a new back pain from the surgery itself), and I am back from the hospital, and well on the path to recovery (walking a little, sitting a small bit, resting a ton). I’ll write more later when it is more comfortable to be on a computer, but just wanted to pass along the latest updates in case I haven’t had a chance to talk to you in person.

And for everyone who has passed along good wishes – thanks! it means a lot to me to hear from everyone
